Who We Be
Who we are, what we do and why we do it.
Jive-Ass Apparel is a purveyor of popular and unpopular culture, esoteric reference, subtle nuance, connotative rhetoric and cross-cultural symbolism. We currently consist of a single artist, a dedicated assistant and a collective of like-minded individuals bound by common interests and sources of inspiration.
Our interests include popular and unpopular American, Asian and Latin culture; urban artistry and contemporary design; and a variety of musical, novelty and hobbyist aspects. Jive is jive, baby -- it occurs in all cultures and categories.
How We Do
Jive-Ass Apparel is a central source for modern and vintage t-shirts, both humorous and offensive, inspired by popular and unpopular culture. Our selection includes new and recurring themes, few of which you will see elsewhere, all of which is done in true jive-ass style.
Jive-Ass also offers esoteric references and iconoclastic symbolism, which any jive-ass turkey will appreciate, whether it's the anti-heroic icons of hip hop or the deeply-entrenched jackassery of the computer underground. While some sites specialize in revolving themes or single-source inspirations, we cover it all. Likewise, our coverage extends to you, the wearer of fine Jive-Ass Apparel.
Why We Do
Many concepts originate from what we personally find amusing or inspired, yet our designs make for great gifts for yourself and anyone you know. Though we have nothing against being naked, we do have something against being distastefully dressed.
